Evening at the Estuary

Oil on 30x30cm(12x12") panel, mounted and framed.
I painted this at the end of a beautiful summer's day at Aberlady Bay, part of the John Muir Nature Reserve in East Lothian. I'll never forget the magical atmosphere and the abstract shapes of the water channels.
Also, a gust of wind blew my easel over and my mobile phone was tipped into the bog water! The painting was salvaged, but not the phone. A truly unforgettable evening.
