Highland Falls

Oil on 30x30cm (12x12") panel, mounted and framed.
This waterfall is on an estate below Ben Vorlich, Perthshire, Scotland. I sat on a footbridge and painted this idyllic scene in a few hours. It was a warm day, but cool in the shade. You can see the light filtering through the trees, highlighting the moss on the wet rocks. A symphony of different greens - perhaps this is what makes it one of my favourites.
