Pool in the Park
Oil on 30x30cm (12x12") panel, mounted and framed.
Forthquarter Park in north Edinburgh affords a haven of peace for local residents. The developers had the forethought to add pools that connect to each other, surrounded by native flora. In the late afternoon I sat on the grass to paint the striking reflections of trees and reedbeds, chatting to curious children. The swans, just out of shot, had gently disturbed the water. A limited palette of greens and blues add to the tranquility of this picture.
