Along the Coast, Portpatrick
£600
Oil on 30x30cm (12x12") panel, mounted and framed.
The weather couldn't decide what to do this on this day in August on the south west coast of Scotland. A strong breeze brought scudding clouds and occasional drizzle, but my, it was stunning when the sun came out! I did have to nestle down and hold my painting on my lap to prevent it from blowing away.
I'm fascinated by the unexpected colour combinations of the natural world, and the Scottish coast provides turquoise seas, shades of brown in the cliffs all high-lighted by the intense gold of the lichen.
Bordered in dark green and finished in a deep, off-white frame.
