Landscapes
I like to paint outside, directly from nature, a process which is usually referred to as 'en plein air'. I aim to capture the essence of a fleeting moment rather than a photographic representation. Below, alongside the smaller paintings, you will see some images of me painting in all weathers, with my trusty rucksack, easel and stool.
The larger pieces are painted in my studio at home in Edinburgh, using the sketches and experience I've gained outside. All the smaller paintings are mounted onto backing boards and supplied in a champagne gold or white frame. Larger works may be framed in a white tray frame for a modern look. However, you can choose your own frame, if you prefer.
