My second trip to Canada was partly a pilgrimage to see the many works of Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven, who were active round  the turn of the 20th. century. They immersed themselves in and painted the great outdoors. I chose to visit during the fall, making pastel sketches of the colours as I went. I used one to paint this picture of Pike River in Quebec Province.
