Marram Grass

I keep being drawn back to paint the atmospheric vista of the bents at Aberlady, East Lothian. A great Scottish word, 'bents': it means the coastal ground where the coarse marram grass grows. In the nature reserve at Aberlady, the wee hillocks of marshland become islands as the tide flows in, which often means I get wet feet.
