Koi Carp, Logan Botanic Gardens

I've long wanted to visit these Botanic Gardens in the south west of Scotland, and there really is so much to paint. As usual, I was attracted by the water, reflections and lily pads, but there was the bonus of a school of enormous koi carp in the pond. I'd not painted fish with a palette knife before, but I was pleased with the way they came out, half submerged in the water.
This little oil painting has a green border and a deep off-white frame which will suit any home.
