I love the china blue and vibrant orange against the dark foliage in this painting. Nature has all the best colour combinations, and delphiniums and crocosmia are such fun to paint. This piece is inspired by the amazing flower border at Dirleton Castle in East Lothian, where I have sat and sketched  many times in the past.
